Governance Structure

The Governing Council is the highest authority on all matters relating to the Institution. Members of the Governing Council are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting of the Institution.

The governing council is the main steering council for the institution. This is an elected body mandated to operate for a year. The Council consists of

  • The Executive Officers
  • Elected representatives from the Divisions
  • Co-opted Members
    • Representatives of Selected Academic Institutions
    • Immediate Past Presidents

The Governing Council’s responsibilities are, but not limited to –

  • Adopt the guidelines and take the decisions necessary to ensure the performance of the functions of the institution
  • Set goals and direction for annual events
  • Manage the AGM and Annual Surveyors Week
  • Appoint standing and adhoc committees to assist their operations
