TO ALL MEMBERS,

Section 3(viii) of your Constitution makes it obligatory to the Governing Council "To maintain a library of books and periodicals relating to surveying and to encourage the publication of such books and periodicals". Accordingly, the Governing Council is leaving no stone unturned aimed at up-grading the Institution's Library with: Furniture, Equipment and Books. Appeal is being made to all and sundry to this end.

In the long term the Governing Council urges all Members to develop the habit of writing Books both for the general public and the Institution. It is a formidable task. But remember "where there is the will, there is always the way". Please accept the challenge.

In the meantime, the Governing Council would be grateful to receive donation of books from you to supplement those that are being purchased. The Books need not be limited to surveying and its related subjects. They can range from "Archaeology to Zoology". Please deliver the Books at the Secretariat.

Your contributions to the development of the Institution will always be remembered and acknowledged. We look forward to receiving your Books and thank you in anticipation thereof.
